Press Release

2 August 2021

Get ready for Fareham’s summer of fun!

With the summer holidays underway, Fareham Borough Council has even more fun activities planned to keep the kids entertained.

From Monday 9 August, a giant sandpit arrives in West Street!

This free attraction will be open Monday to Saturday 9.30 to 4.30pm and Sundays 9.30 to 4.00pm. You can find it between the Crown Pub and Beal’s Estates Agents until Sunday 5 September. Simply turn up with the kids and their buckets and spades!

Alongside this, every Friday during August is Family Fun Friday at Westbury Manor Museum.

These free drop-in sessions, overseen by Hampshire Cultural Trust, will include circus workshops, a magician, face painting, storytelling, and crafts. Sessions will take place either in the garden or on the forecourt area. If it’s wet, activities will be moved inside or under gazeboes. For more details head to the Museum’s website: www.hampshireculture.org.uk/westbury-manor-museum

Cllr Sue Walker, Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, said: “After a summer of cancelled events last year, I’m delighted that we are once again able to provide activities for families. If you’re stuck for something to do with the children this summer, here is your answer, and best of all, it’s all free!”

Both of the above activities are being funded from the European Regional Development Fund.
