Solar Together scheme back for 2022

Last year, Fareham Borough Council teamed up with iChoosr for the first time to launch the innovative ‘Solar Together’ programme, providing cleaner, greener and more sustainable power for Fareham residents.

The Solar Together programme offers high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery storage through a group-buying scheme. This brings Fareham households together to get the most competitive prices. The more people that register, the better the deal will be for each household.

Following the success of this programme the Council will be working with iChoosr again for another year.  Residents can register for free, without obligation, by providing details about their roof, such as its size and orientation.

An ‘auction’ will then be held, where pre-vetted solar installers will submit bids for the work. Residents who have registered will then be provided with a solution to best suit their roof specifications and associated costs. There is no obligation to continue, and installers will only contact those who accept the offer to then survey the property and set an installation date.

Executive Member for Planning and Development, Cllr Simon Martin commented: “The Council has committed to becoming carbon neutral across all our buildings and services by 2030 as well as encouraging wider carbon reductions where we can. That is why we have teamed up with iChoosr once again this year to help deliver solar energy options to households at the best possible price. Every change that we make contributes to giving Fareham a greener and more sustainable future.”

For more information, visit www.solartogether.co.uk/Fareham  where you can register for the scheme and get in touch with the Solar Together helpdesk. The independent Solar Together Team can help residents through every stage of the process and keep them informed.
