Commemoration Service to take place in Fareham

Fareham Borough Council has announced that a special commemoration service, marking the death of Her late Majesty The Queen, will take place on Sunday 18 September.

The service will begin at 3pm at St Peter and St Paul Church, Osborn Road, Fareham, and members of the public are welcome to attend.

There will also be a national one-minute silence at 8pm on Sunday 18 September, on the eve of the state funeral on Monday 19 September at Westminster Abbey.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward said: “As we all prepare to say our final farewells to Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, I am pleased that we can offer the residents of Fareham this special commemoration service.  It gives people the opportunity to pay their respects in Fareham’s parish church and to give thanks for our Monarch of blessed and glorious memory.  For those who are unable to attend, there will be the opportunity to observe the national one-minute silence at 8pm to reflect on the passing of Her Majesty.”
