Press Release

3 November 2022

Remembrance Day Parade and Service

On Sunday 13 November, the Annual Remembrance Day Parade will take place, followed by a special service at Holy Trinity Church.

The names of loved ones from the Fareham area, who lost their lives as serving members in British Armed Forces' conflicts, will be read out during a ‘Forever Remembered’ ceremony at the war memorial, Holy Trinity Church at 9.45am.

The Parade will be stepping off at 10.38am from the Duke of Connaught's Own Club in Western Road, making its way along Kings Road and West Street, before arriving at the war memorial, where a two-minute silence will be observed at 11.00am. This will be followed by the wreath laying ceremony and church service.

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Mike Ford, said:

"This annual service is an important and moving ceremony to commemorate British service members who have lost their lives in wars and other military conflicts.  I hope that the residents of Fareham join us on Remembrance Sunday to pay respects to the servicemen and women who so bravely served our nation.”

HMS Collingwood, in partnership with the Royal British Legion, has the honour of leading the Remembrance Parade to the Memorial. The Commanding Officer of HMS Collingwood will be attending the parade with HMS Collingwood's Volunteer Band and Platoons.
