Find out about Fareham's finances

Fareham Borough Council is committed to the responsible management of Council finances. It continues to plan ahead carefully to meet the current and future needs of Fareham residents while providing a good level of service.

However, the aftermath of the pandemic and the current cost of living crisis has presented the Council with a significant financial pressure. As a result of the economic climate, it is costing more for the Council to provide the same core services.

It is important to the Council that it is open and transparent about how it manages its finances. That’s why it is asking Fareham residents to find out more about, and comment on, its plans to address these challenges by completing a short survey:

The survey can be completed until 23 February and paper copies can also be obtained during opening hours at the Fareham Borough Council Civic Offices.

Cllr Seán Woodward, Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said: “Fareham continues to be among the lowest Council Tax for district councils in England and is currently 30% below the national average at just £3 per week for the average home.  We welcome the feedback from residents through surveys such as this, as they not only allow us to explain how our finances are allocated but give residents the opportunity to have their say on how we continue to deliver quality services in the future.  I encourage everyone to take part”
