More Affordable Housing Completed in Fareham

Fareham Housing welcomed councillors and guests today at its latest affordable housing development at Queens Road, Fareham, ahead of the homes being handed to new residents.

Located in Fareham town centre, the development at Queens Road provides two three-bedroom homes which will be made available at a Social Rent (the most affordable of affordable homes). These homes have already been allocated to people from Fareham Borough Council’s housing register, who are expected to move into the homes within the next week.

Fareham Housing worked with Southampton based Daintree Developments to deliver this project, which has been specifically designed to reflect the character of the area. These wheelchair accessible homes have also been developed with energy efficiency in mind, with features such as solar panels and air source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water.

Executive Member for Housing at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Connie Hockley, said: “Affordable housing in Fareham is much needed, so I am delighted that this new development is almost ready to welcome new tenants. I am extremely impressed with these energy efficient homes and would like thank Daintree Developments and officers from Fareham Housing for making this possible.”
