Building Welborne Beautiful

Fareham Borough Council has produced a brochure titled ‘Building Welborne Beautiful’ which sets out the considerable progress made so far in creating the Welborne Garden Village.

Building Welborne Beautiful highlights how the Council has worked with the Master Developer, Buckland Development Ltd, and other key organisations, to take Welborne from an idea into a reality. It explains the work which has been carried out to date along with details of what will take place next. This includes the building of the first houses at Welborne during 2024.

The Building Welborne Beautiful brochure will be reviewed by the Council’s Planning and Development Scrutiny Panel later today, ahead of final consideration by the Council’s Executive on Monday 18 March.

Executive Member for Planning and Development at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Simon Martin, said: “It is an extremely long and complex process to build a whole garden village, and this is as it should be to ensure we get it right. This publication shows just how much work has gone into getting us to the delivery stage of momentous project and am looking forward to seeing Welborne Garden Village take shape, both in the near future and in the years to come.”

A planning application for a new Village Centre at Welborne, containing a range of community, commercial, retail and residential uses, has very recently been registered by Fareham Borough Council. It will be publicised shortly, and any interested parties will be welcome to comment on the proposals. Full details of the planning application can be viewed on the Council’s website here.
