Voting in Fareham in Bloom competition now open

Fareham Borough Council’s community gardening competition is now open for voting.

The Fareham in Bloom competition opened for entries in May, with five categories for residents, businesses and community groups in the Borough to enter. It is now time for the winners to be chosen.

Residents can vote by going to the Council’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/farehambc and ‘liking’ the images. There are five Facebook photo albums, one per category. Alternatively, votes can be cast by emailing the category and number of the image to inbloom@fareham.gov.uk. This year’s entries can be viewed on our website at www.fareham.gov.uk/inbloom. Residents are able to vote in as many of the categories as they wish.

Voting ends at 12pm on 30 July. The two highest voted entrants in each category will be contacted before being visited by the judging panel who will decide the winner. The exception to this is the Something Small category, where the photograph and description will be used to determine the winner.

Executive Member for Streetscene at Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Ian Bastable, said: “This is a special year for the Fareham in Bloom competition, as each of the winners will be in with a chance of receiving the Mayor’s Gold Award for best entry overall, in celebration of the Borough’s 50 years. I encourage residents to pick their favourites and get those votes in!”

The results will be announced in early September. The winners, each with a guest, will be invited to a tea party in the Mayor's Parlour to receive their prize in late September.
