Fareham success in prestigious gardening awards

Fareham Borough Council is delighted to announce that the Borough’s parks and open spaces have received multiple awards in this year’s ‘South and South East In Bloom’ awards.

The South and South East In Bloom campaign is the largest horticultural campaign in the region, involving hundreds of communities each year. The ceremony was held on Friday 20 September at RHS Gardens Wisley, where the Council scooped up the following top awards:

• Abbey Meadows – Gold
• Holly Hill – Silver Gilt
• Sensory Garden – Gold
• Westbury Manor Garden – Silver Gilt
• Coldeast Conservation Area – Gold and Category Winner
• Warsash Common – Gold
• Portchester Common – Gold
• Portchester Crematorium – Gold and Category Winner

Executive Member for Streetscene at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Ian Bastable, said: “I am so delighted that our parks and open spaces continue to be recognised year on year for these prestigious awards. This is a real accomplishment and well-deserved by the volunteers, communities and the Council’s grounds maintenance teams, who work tirelessly to keep the Borough’s parks and open spaces looking beautiful for our local residents.”
