Last chance to apply for free energy-efficiency grants for your home!

Time is running out for Fareham residents to apply for free energy-efficiency upgrades for their home, worth up to £38,000.

If your home is not very energy efficient and lacks gas central heating, you could be eligible for the Warmer Homes programme, which offers a variety of fully funded energy efficiency measures. The programme is open to both owner occupiers and private rental tenants but applications close on 31 October 2024.

You may qualify for the funding if the following statements apply:

• Your home is not heated by mains gas (e.g. you use electric, oil or LPG)
• Your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating is D, E, F or G (if you don’t know this, we can tell you)
• You have a household income of £36,000 or under, or you receive a means-tested benefit.

Executive Member for Planning and Development, Cllr Malcolm Daniells, said: “I really encourage Fareham residents who think they may be eligible for the Warmer Homes programme to submit their applications before the end of the month. This scheme could provide improved insultation, heating and even solar panels completely free of charge and could reduce energy bills while also helping the environment. Applications only take around five minutes, so make sure you don’t miss out!”
