Nominate Fareham heroes for Citizen of Honour awards

Fareham Borough Council is asking residents to nominate local heroes for the 2025 Citizen of Honour awards.

The Council runs the awards every year to honour and celebrate those who have made a positive impact on the lives of local people, or who have shown fortitude when faced with difficulty or adversity.
The two categories in which people may be nominated are:

Young Citizen of Honour Award for residents up to and including 17 years of age
Citizen of Honour Award for those aged 18 and over.

Previous winners have been nominated for volunteering, taking action to save a life and facing personal difficulties. The deadline for nominations is Friday 31 January 2025. Nominees must be resident in the Borough of Fareham and must not have received an award previously, unless the nomination is for something unrelated to a previous award.

There will be one winner in each category, who will receive:

An invitation to the Mayor Making ceremony in May with 2 guests, to receive their award badges from the outgoing Mayor
An invitation to a reception with the new Mayor to receive Citizen of Honour certificates
An invitation to the Mayor's Civic Service and Remembrance Day Service
Family ticket to the pantomime at Fareham Live

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Simon Martin, said:

“We're proud to have countless individuals within our community who selflessly dedicate their time to help others, or bravely face their own challenging circumstances. I urge residents to nominate these extraordinary people to make sure they receive the commendation they truly deserve in our Citizen of Honour Awards.”
