Press Release

7 February 2025

Much loved Pop Up Beach back for 2025!!

Fareham Borough Council has today announced that its Pop Up Beach will be back in Fareham Shopping Centre once again for 2025.

The much-loved giant sand pit will be returning to delight children on Valentine’s Day, 14 February, thanks to sponsorship by Everyone Active. The Pop Up Beach will also have a ‘grassed’ area where children can play. Throughout the year this space will also offer other fun activities such as lawn games, including giant chess, noughts and crosses, connect 4 and Jenga, and will be in place right the way up to October this year.

The sandpit will be assembled by construction engineering company, Mountjoy Ltd, and Everyone Active will also be regular visitors to run some family friendly activities.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Connie Hockey, said: “Our Pop Up Beach was incredibly popular last year, so I am delighted that we are able to provide it again in 2025, and for even longer than before. I would like to thank Everyone Active for being this year’s sponsor and Mountjoy for the construction. Fareham is quickly becoming a go-to place for families with young children and this will be another fantastic addition to Fareham Shopping Centre.”

Ryan Grant, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “We’re proud to be the sponsor of this year’s Pop Up Beach, in partnership with Fareham Borough Council. It is quickly becoming a landmark event in Fareham’s calendar and brings great enjoyment to the local community, so we’re delighted to be involved. Everyone Active is hosting a series of family friendly activities so please look out for these and we look forward to seeing you there!”
