Fareham’s Pop Up Beach is now Open!!

Fareham Borough Council is delighted to declare its Pop Up Beach in Fareham Shopping Centre open!

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Pal Hayre, was joined by headline sponsors, Everyone Active, as well as some of its ‘Active Monsters’ mascots to officially welcome the first children to this giant sandpit and games area.

From now until October, this space will be open daily for children to come and play. There will also be lawn games, including giant chess, connect 4 and Jenga on the grassed area, and Everyone Active will also be hosting a series of family friendly activities throughout the year.

Early arrivals at today’s opening received goody bags, courtesy of Everyone Active, its team were on hand with games and activities. Children could even have their photos taken with the Active Monsters!

Councillor Connie Hockey, Executive Member for Leisure and Community was also in attendance at today’s grand opening and commented: “I can’t think of a better time than Valentine’s Day to launch our much-loved Pop Up Beach for this year. Just in time for the upcoming half term, special thanks go to Everyone Active for being this year’s headline sponsor, and to Mountjoy Ltd for the construction of this impressive installation inside Fareham Shopping Centre. Great fun has been had by all today, and I hope that many more will attend in the months to come.”

Ryan Grant, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “We’re really proud to officially open this year’s Pop Up Beach, alongside Fareham Borough Council, as headline sponsors. This fantastic attraction brings a huge amount of joy to children from across the Fareham community, and we’re delighted to be involved. Our Active Monsters were causing mischief at the event today and we will be running plenty of games and activity sessions throughout the year.
