Council announces programme of Family Friendly events for 2025

Fareham Borough Council is delighted to present its calendar of events for 2025. This offers a wide range of annual favourites, free or low-cost events, and a new addition to 2025, which are suitable for all ages.

• Pop Up Beach - 14 February – October
  • Back again for 2025, our giant sand pit has returned to Fareham Shopping Centre thanks to sponsors Everyone Active.
• Artisan Market - 22 March, 12 April, 17 May, 14 June, 18 October, 15 November
  • These markets have become very popular in recent years, showcasing an abundance of unique products, local crafts, gift and food stalls.
• 999 Day - 21 June
  • This is an annual family favourite, with lots of local emergency service heroes and their vehicles on display including the Police, Fire Service, South Central Ambulance Service, RNLI, Hampshire Search and Rescue, Coastguard and much more.
• Fareham’s Big Weekend - 12-13 July
  • New for 2025, Fareham will be hosting a new event for 2025, with events and activities to showcase what the town has to offer. There will be activities on West Street, plus things to do across the town.

• Podium Playtime – every Thursday during August
  • New for 2025, a selection of outdoor games including giant chess, connect 4, dominoes and more under the Performance on West Street from 10 – 1pm.

• Play Day – 13 August
  • A great event for children and all the family to get back to nature at Holly Hill Woodland Park and take part in a range of woodland themed activities. Tickets will go on sale soon, so look out for updates.
• Bygone Fareham – 13 September
  • This free annual event features an array of classic cars for visitors to admire. There will also be singing and dancing performances, activities for children, and a pop-up vintage artisan market.
• Christmas Lights Switch On – 22 November
  • Easily the most popular of the Councils annual events, with thousands attending each year, Fareham’s Christmas Lights Switch On includes a Christmas market, free children's activities, fun fair rides, food and drink, and street and stage performers.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Connie Hockley, said: “I am so delighted that we have another busy year ahead, offering affordable and fun events for Fareham residents. I am really looking forward to attending as many as I can, particularly our new summer event for this year, Fareham’s Big Weekend. I really hope local people come along with the whole family and get the most out of these fantastic community events.”
