Help Us Bring New life to the Heart of Fareham!

Fareham Borough Council is inviting residents, local businesses, and town centre visitors to help shape proposals for the future of West Street by attending a pop-up event in the Bandstand, West Street on Wednesday 28 May between 10am – 2pm.

Council officers will be on hand to discuss Town Centre Regeneration and ask for residents’ input to help shape the area into a social and inviting place which is full of life. There will also be free lawn games and colouring activities for children to enjoy.

The Council’s Town Centre Regeneration Strategy was officially agreed in February 2025, setting out the Council’s vision and priorities for the Town Centre. It includes plans to transform the pedestrianised area of West Street into a more vibrant and welcoming space with more seating, greener surroundings, and improved play areas that better serve the community.

The Council also invites residents, local businesses and town centre visitors who are unable to make the event to have their say from 28 May here: www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations

Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Simon Martin said “Enhancing the pedestrianised area of West Street and improving the public space offering is one of the key objectives in the delivery of Fareham’s Town Centre Regeneration Strategy. These improvements will provide spaces that are inclusive and engaging, while giving the Town Centre a sense of identity. I encourage Fareham residents to come and get involved in the pop-up event and have your say in building a vibrant and engaging space for all to enjoy.”
