Providing Suitable Social Housing for Older Residents

Fareham Borough Council has launched a consultation seeking feedback on its draft Later Living Strategy.

This draft strategy reflects current guidance and sets out future aims in providing high quality older persons social housing accommodation, with onsite support to maintain independent living, and application routes available to residents aged 55 and over who are looking for affordable housing in Fareham.

The consultation seeks to ensure that the document is easy to understand, and to raise awareness of the benefits to living in this type of accommodation. It will run until Friday 18 July and Fareham residents can review the new draft strategy and have their say through a short consultation survey here:https://online1.snapsurveys.com/jq7uny

Executive Member for Housing at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Fred Birkett, said:

“The well-being of all Fareham residents is crucial, and no group is more important than those living in the Borough’s later living accommodation. The Council takes provision of suitable accommodation very seriously and this new ‘Later Living’ strategy seeks to ensure the services we offer fit the bill. I encourage all residents with an interest in this area to read the policy and provide feedback via the consultation survey”

Details of the consultation can be found at the Council’s website: www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.
