Help shape how people can apply for affordable housing

A public consultation has been launched by Fareham Borough Council to give Fareham residents the opportunity to influence our Draft Allocations Policy for all housing owned and managed by the Council.

The Draft Allocations Policy updates Government guidance and sets out who is eligible and how to apply for affordable housing controlled by the Council.

Our consultation seeks feedback on the document to help ensure it is clear and concise, and to raise awareness of the Council’s methodology for allocating homes to those who need them. It will run until Friday 18 July and Fareham residents can review the draft policy and have their say through a short survey here: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/78vawp.

Executive Member for Housing at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Fred Birkett, said:

“The Council takes the provision of suitable housing to those who need help finding a home very seriously, and I am delighted to introduce the new Draft Allocations Policy. I would urge those who are interested to read it and, through the consultation survey, let us know their views.”

Details of the consultation can be found at the Council’s website: www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.
