Flying the Flag for Armed Forces Day

Fareham Borough Council has marked this year’s Armed Forces Day on Saturday 28 June, by raising the Armed Forces Flag outside the Civic Offices in Fareham.

Representing the Armed Forces were Captain Tim Davey, Base Warrant Officer, WO1 Chris Lindop and two HMS Collingwood sailors.  The ceremony was also attended by The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Mrs Louise Clubley, together with the Mayor’s Consort, Mr Jonathan Clubley, Deputy Mayor, Cllr MrsTina Ellis and Deputy Mayor’s Consort Mr Robert Ellis. 

The Council will also be recognising the work of the Armed Forces by flying an additional Armed Forces Flag in the Town Centre.

The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Mrs Louise Clubley, said: “It was an honour to be present for the raising of the Armed Forces Day Flag. By flying these flags ahead of Armed Forces Day this Saturday, we are showing our appreciation for everything our Armed Forces have done and continue to do for our country.”
