Have your say on Fareham Housing’s Right-Sizing Policy

Fareham Borough Council is inviting residents to have their say on Fareham Housing’s Right Sizing Policy which aims to ensure that Fareham Housing tenants are aware of the process, should they wish to move to a smaller property.

‘Right-sizing’ is when a tenant wishes to move to a smaller home, usually because their requirements have changed.  It can release larger homes for families and ensure that housing adaptations are received by those that need them most. It can also enable smaller households to move into accommodation that better suits their needs and potentially reduce their expenditure.

A consultation has been launched which seeks feedback on the policy document to ensure the guidance within it is clear and concise. It will run until 1 September and residents can review the policy and have their say through a short survey here: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/i1r3ia.

Executive Member for Housing at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Fred Birkett said: “Fareham Housing is committed to providing more housing choices to build strong and healthy communities. Right-sizing is about ensuring that the right people have the right homes to meet their needs. I encourage residents to have their say on this policy document to ensure that the benefits of right sizing are clear and easy to understand.”
