Have your say on Draft Vulnerability Policy

Fareham Borough Council has launched a public consultation seeking feedback on a new Draft Vulnerability Policy.

The Draft Vulnerability Policy 2025 seeks to ensure that officers in every part of the Council are well equipped to support vulnerable service users. The draft policy is written in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 and the Council’s Public Sector Equality Duty.

The new policy details how vulnerabilities can be recorded by Council officers, and sets out how reasonable adjustments can be made to support vulnerable individuals requiring Council services. This will ensure that all residents of Fareham will receive the best possible service from the Council, the most effective support and the best outcomes for everyone.

This consultation seeks feedback on the draft policy document to ensure that the guidance is clear and concise. It will run until Friday 24 October and Fareham residents can review the draft policy and have their say through a short survey here: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/mqyl4f

Executive Member for Health and Public Protection, Councillor Joanne Burton, said: “It is really important that Council officers are able to identify potential vulnerabilities in order to provide the best possible service for our residents. Vulnerability can take many forms, can include any age group and is not something which is always clearly identifiable. That’s why it so important that any policy document is clear and the guidance is easy to understand. I encourage residents to review the draft and have their say by filling in the consultation survey.”

Details of this and other public consultations can be found at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.
