Press Release

25 September 2025

Home visits for annual canvass

Fareham households who are required to respond to their annual canvass form, and have not already done so, will receive either a telephone call or a knock at the door from Friday 26 September, as Fareham Borough Council’s team of canvassers start to contact outstanding properties to check their details on the electoral register are correct.

The annual canvass takes place every year to allow the Council to keep the electoral register up to date and ensure that everyone who is eligible to vote is registered.

Canvassers will only visit properties where we need a response and none has been received. Canvass forms were sent out in July, with reminders posted early September, and households must respond to this even if there are no changes.

All canvassers will be wearing official photographic identification which will be produced when introducing themselves. Each canvasser will also be equipped with a tablet allowing them to quickly confirm or amend householder details in just a few minutes.

Households can still submit their response via post or online at www.householdresponse.com/fareham. However, they must have their canvass form to hand as the security codes will be required when providing an online response.

Residents with any queries or concerns should call the Council’s elections team on 01329 824588.
