Fareham residents receive Citizen of Honour Awards

Two residents of the Borough have been presented with the Council’s Citizen and Young Citizen of Honour 2025 awards.

The winners were presented their awards by the Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Mrs Louise Clubley. In addition to their invitations to the Mayor Making ceremony back in May, the Citizens of Honour are also invited to key events throughout the year. This year they have also received a family ticket to the 2025 pantomime at Fareham Live – Beauty and the Beast.

Those honoured this year are:

Steven Mann - Citizen of Honour winner (18+)

Steven has been a prolific volunteer at Stubbington Youth Football club, coaching the Under 18s team, the women's team and the Wild Cats team. He has raised over £80,000 for the club and given up hours of his time each week to enhance and maintain the pitches at the Recreation Ground.  He works alongside the Council to ensure the continuity of the space for future generations and is an asset to the club, the Borough and the county as a whole.

Charlie Keen - Young Citizen of Honour winner (under 18)

Charlie is nine years old and, having spent some time in hospital, knows how important it is for families to have support during their stay. He has become a champion of the Sophie's Legacy charity and set himself the incredible task of climbing three mountains - Snowden, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike, raising over £3,000 for the charity.  Charlie's dad sadly passed away in February last year and even through his grief, Charlie has not given up on his goal and has continued to push himself to complete his challenge.

The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Mrs Louise Clubley, said: “It has been a pleasure to get to know these inspirational members of Fareham’s community better, and to present them with their Citizen and Young Citizen of Honour awards. They both have very different, but very touching stories, and I hope that their amazing efforts encourage others to make a difference in their local communities.”

Citizen and Young Citizen of Honour 2026 awards will be open for nominations in November 2025.
