Fareham shows support for 16 Days of Activism

Fareham Borough Council is proud to support the 16 Days of Activism this year.

A global campaign to end violence against women and girls, the 16 Days of Activism run from 25 November until 10 December.

The Council is partnering with the Stop Domestic Abuse charity to support the campaign with a Children’s Art Exhibition called “The Art of Being Heard”, a moving showcase of creativity and resilience, sharing children’s own perspectives on safety, fear, and hope.

The exhibition is housed in the old Debenham’s building inside Fareham Shopping Centre, showcasing fantastic images that have been created by children that explain their feelings, emotions and hope for the future.

Executive member for Health and Public Protection, Cllr Joanne Burton said:

“I am so pleased to work in partnership with a fabulous organisation like Stop Domestic Abuse. This artwork highlights the impact that domestic abuse has on children and how, with positive support and engagement, staff at Stop Domestic Abuse can help families to recover, build resilience and feel safe.”
