Press Release

Construction begins on new Padel facility in Fareham

Work has officially begun on a purpose-built padel facility at the Park Lane Recreation Ground in Fareham.

Padel is one of the world’s fastest growing sports. Often referred to as a mix of tennis and squash, it is easy to learn and can be played by all ages and abilities.

Padel4All, one of the leading operators of covered padel centres in the UK, is fully funding the new fully-accessible, four-court centre on the open space at Park Lane Recreation Ground, which is expected to open in spring next year

Councillor Connie Hockley, Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, was joined by Dax Mellor, Managing Director at Padel4All, for an official ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the start of the works.

Cllr Hockley said: “I am thrilled that Padel4All identified Fareham as a prime location for this new padel facility. Fareham is quickly becoming known for its wide range of leisure and community facilities and this will enhance our offering even more for local people. I would like to thank Padel4All for choosing Fareham and for funding the delivery of such an amazing new activity centre.”

Dax Mellor added: “We are incredibly excited to bring the dynamic and social sport of padel to the Fareham community.  Our vision is to create an inclusive and vibrant space where players of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to competitive athletes, can come together to exercise, socialise, and enjoy a fantastic new sport."
