Popular pop-up beach to return this year

Fareham Borough Council is delighted to announce that the pop-up beach will return to Fareham Shopping Centre this year.

Sponsored by Everyone Active, the much-loved giant sandpit will open on 13 February in time for the schools’ half term break, and will remain in place until October. Beside the pop-up beach, there will be a ‘grassed’ area where children can play, and where other fun activities will be offered throughout the year.

Construction engineering company, Mountjoy Ltd, will assemble the sandpit near B&M, adjacent to the soft play area.

The Deputy Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Tina Ellis, will be joined by Everyone Active, together with some of its ‘Active Monsters’ mascots, to officially open the pop-up beach at 2pm on Friday 13 February.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Connie Hockey, said:

“I am thrilled that our much loved pop up beach is returning to Fareham Shopping Centre this year. It’s a fantastic space for families to enjoy and my thanks go to Everyone Active for their sponsorship and to Mountjoy for bringing the sandpit to life. This is a wonderful addition to the offer for families in our town centre.”

Ryan Grant, contract manager at Everyone Active, said:

“We’re delighted to sponsor the pop-up beach in partnership with Fareham Borough Council. It’s become a real favourite in the community, and we’re excited to support it again.”
