Ice Cream concessions open for tender

Fareham Borough Council is welcoming bids for its summer-only ice cream, light snacks and refreshment concession licenses for the next three summer seasons.

The three-year licenses will commence on 1 April 2026 and run until 30 September 2028 for the summer months at the following locations:

• Meon Shore, Hill Head
• Salterns Road, Hill Head
• Portchester Castle
• Shore Road, Warsash (Please note this site is not suitable for Whippy Machines - Soft Scoop Ice-cream only)

The tender window is now open until noon on Wednesday 25 February and providers should register their interest by email to estatesservice@fareham.gov.uk to request the relevant forms.

Forms should be returned with a photograph of any trading vehicles and details of power generation to the email above or by post to: Asset Management, Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ.

The successful applicants will be required to sign and return a licences agreement, provide a copy of their current insurance policy and pay the balance in full by 20 March 2026.

Please note that this tender is for ice cream, light snacks and refreshments only and bids for hot drinks or food will not be considered. Evidence of food hygiene levels, relevant insurances and adherence to Council requirements will be requested and verified by Fareham Borough Council in advance of any licenses being issued.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Simon Martin, said: “Food and drink concession licenses are hotly contested within the Borough, and these three-year licences will be in high demand. I urge interested providers to register their interest as soon as possible and submit their applications without delay.”
