Council awards new contract as further Daedalus milestones unveiled

Fareham Borough Council celebrated a significant milestone at Fareham Innovation Centre with the announcement of a new contract with Oxford Innovation Space, the organisation that has successfully managed the Centre since it first opened ten years ago.  Their continued stewardship will ensure the Centre remains a hub of enterprise, supporting the growth of local businesses and strengthening the wider Daedalus economic area.

Alongside the contract announcement, the Council formally unveiled a plaque highlighting two major new additions to Daedalus: Bristow’s new Search and Rescue training facility, due to open later this year, and a new advanced manufacturing facility currently under construction for Eaton, a global intelligent power management company, marking further investment and confidence in the site.  The unveiling took place on the terrace in the Bridge, the centre’s conference space.

Councillor Simon Martin, Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said: “Oxford Innovation Space has played a pivotal role in the success of Fareham Innovation Centre since day one.  Their expertise, commitment and partnership with the Council have helped businesses flourish, supported jobs and enhanced the reputation of Daedalus as an outstanding place to grow and innovate.  Renewing their contract ensures that this success will continue long into the future.”

Jo Stevens, Managing Director at Oxford Innovation Space, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing relationship with Fareham Borough Council.  Fareham Innovation Centre has grown into a dynamic, supportive environment for businesses, and the next decade presents exciting opportunities to build on that success.  The developments at Daedalus, including Bristow and Eaton’s new facilities, will bring even more momentum to this thriving community.”
