Fareham Live to Host Two Colours Ukrainian Choir

Fareham Borough Council is pleased to be working with Fareham Live to bring the ‘Two Colours Ukrainian Choir’ to the venue on Wednesday 17 June, as part of Refugee Week from 15-21 June.

Emerging from the conflict in Ukraine and seeking refuge in Hampshire, this group of resilient women came together to form the Two Colours Ukrainian Choir. They have been studying to learn English at Havant and South Downs Colleges and will be merging their learning with their love of music by performing a concert with songs in both Ukrainian and English.

The theme for Refugee Week this year is ‘Courage’ and the Two Colours Ukrainian Choir concert will be titled ‘The Courage of Two Colours’. Tickets for the concert can be found on the Fareham Live website:

In preparation for the concert, the Council has also arranged for some members of the Choir to perform at local schools across Fareham. This outreach programme will teach around 630 children more about Ukrainian dance, culture and music. If your infant, primary or junior school would like a visit from the Choir, please contact leisure@fareham.gov.uk.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Connie Hockley said: “Not only are the members of the Two Colours Ukrainian Choir very talented performers, but these women demonstrate incredible bravery and courage. They have overcome adversity and have chosen to share their love and appreciation of their home country through music. We are very privileged to have them perform at Fareham Live and at schools across the Borough and I encourage Fareham residents to attend.”
