Meet emergency services at 999 Day

Fareham Borough Council is delighted to confirm that the popular 999 Day event will be returning to Fareham town centre this summer.

Taking place in the pedestrianised area of West Street, this free, family-friendly event will run from 10am until 4pm on Saturday 20 June 2026. The day will celebrate the work of local emergency services, giving residents the chance to meet the heroes who help keep the community safe.

Visitors can enjoy displays of emergency service vehicles and speak with representatives from a wide range of organisations, including the Police, Fire Service, South Central Ambulance Service, RNLI, Hampshire Search and Rescue, the Coastguard and many others.

There will also be an opportunity to see vintage and independent emergency service fire engines up close, and younger visitors can take part in free emergency service–themed activities and games under the bandstand, hosted by Wonder Tots, and test their skills with a giant ‘Operation’ game.

Rapid Relief Team will be in attendance, working in partnership to highlight the vital role they play in supporting emergency service personnel with quality food and refreshments during emergencies and disaster response.

The pop-up beach will be open as usual from 9am to 5.30pm near B&M inside Fareham Shopping Centre, where the giant sandpit is available for children to enjoy free of charge.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Connie Hockley, said:

“I am delighted that 999 Day is back once again. This free event provides a valuable opportunity to thank our emergency services for the vital work they do and allows families to meet the people who work tirelessly to keep us safe.”
