Gear up for Motors and Melodies this autumn

Fareham Borough Council is pleased to announce that its much-loved town centre event, formerly known as Bygone Fareham, will return this year with a fresh new name.

Motors and Melodies will take place on Saturday 12 September 2026 in the pedestrianised area of West Street. Running from 10am to 4pm, this free event will see West Street lined with an impressive display of classic cars, giving visitors the opportunity to admire these vehicles up close and chat with their proud owners.

Local groups such as the South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society, Morris Minors Owners Club, Original Minis Group and Solent Mini Club are expected to attend alongside independent enthusiasts.

Throughout the day, there will be live singing and dancing with a vintage feel under the bandstand, creating a lively atmosphere and celebrating the nostalgia of years gone by.

Councillor Frair Burgess, Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, said:

“Motors and Melodies is a fantastic evolution of our much-loved Bygone Fareham event. It’s a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to come together, enjoy a great day out in the town centre, and celebrate classic vehicles and vintage-style entertainment. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.”
