Your voice matters: Help shape the Borough’s new waste policy

The Council is inviting residents to have their say on proposed updates to its Domestic Waste and Recycling Policy.

The draft policy aims to provide clear guidance on the services available to residents and how to make best use of them.

As part of the review, the Council is seeking feedback on whether the policy is clear and easy to understand. Residents are also encouraged to share their views on enforcement measures and the food waste collection service. Since its introduction earlier this year, around 60% of households have already started using the service.

The consultation will run until 28 August 2026, and residents are encouraged to take part by completing a short survey online: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/jbyk14

Paper copies are available during opening hours at the Fareham Borough Civic Offices.

The Council will be attending two public events as part of its Let’s Talk Fareham Roadshow giving residents the opportunity to discuss the proposed policy and share feedback.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Cllr Ian Bastable, said: We have updated our Waste and Recycling Policy to ensure it is clear, accessible, and easy for residents to understand. The policy sets out how to make the most of our services while helping us meet our environmental commitments. I encourage everyone to do their bit by recycling as much as they can and working with us to keep our communities clean and sustainable.”
