Have your say on Fareham Borough Council’s Draft Housing Tenancy Policy

Fareham Borough Council is inviting residents and stakeholders to have their say on its Draft Housing Tenancy Policy.

The Council is committed to ensuring tenants have a meaningful opportunity to influence decisions that affect their homes and housing services. This draft policy sets out how housing tenancies are allocated, managed and ended, and the standards that tenants can expect throughout their tenancy. It aims to provide clear and transparent information, support sustainable tenancies, and ensure tenants are treated fairly and with respect.

The consultation will run from 18 September to 30 October 2026. Residents can review the draft policy and share their views by completing a short survey online: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/fm6xd7

Paper copies of the survey and alternative formats can be requested by contacting the Engagement Team via email: consultation@fareham.gov.uk or by Telephone 01329 236100.

Executive Member for Housing, Cllr Fred Birkett, said:

“This policy is about ensuring our tenancy arrangements remain fair, effective, and responsive to the needs of our tenants. We want to make sure our approach supports sustainable tenancies, strengthens our communities, and provides clarity. Feedback from tenants and stakeholders is invaluable in helping us shape a policy that works for Fareham”
