Celebrate Christmas with Carols in the Garden this December

Following the success of the popular Tunes in the Garden programme over the summer, Fareham Borough Council is delighted to announce that a new free event, Carols in the Garden, will be taking place in the Civic Gardens this December.

From 4.30pm until 6.00pm across two Thursdays, 10 December and 17 December, visitors can enjoy music and singing performances from talented local groups and artists, featuring traditional carols, festive favourites and Christmas classics, while refreshments and seasonal treats will be available from Fareham Live and the Fareham Library Café.

Alongside the entertainment, the Civic Gardens will be transformed into a Winter Light-Up Garden, illuminated by festive lights throughout the Christmas period, creating a magical backdrop for the performances and adding to the seasonal atmosphere in the town centre.

Visitors to Carols in the Garden can also enjoy the wider festivities taking place in Fareham town centre as part of Festive Thursdays. Running from 4pm to 7pm, the events will feature extended shopping, with many stores in Fareham Shopping Centre remaining open until 7pm, alongside free children's activities, festive performers, and an indoor Christmas market.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Frair Burgess, said:

"Following the fantastic response to Tunes in the Garden this summer, we're excited to welcome residents and visitors back to the Civic Gardens for Carols in the Garden. With live performances, our new Winter Light-Up Garden and the wider Festive Thursdays celebrations, there will be plenty of festive fun for the whole family to enjoy in the heart of Fareham."
