Active Travel

Help us make Fareham town centre easier for walking, wheeling and cycling by taking part in our Active Travel Public Consultation.  External Hyperlink - Opens in new tab

We were made aware that some people were having issues using screen readers on the Active Travel survey. The consultants managing the survey, Ethos Consultants have now fixed the problem.  To make sure everyone who wants to take part has enough time to do so, we have extended the deadline by a week to Wednesday 29 July.

Active Travel Project

Fareham Borough Council is working to bring new life to Fareham Town Centre, making it a vibrant place for shopping, leisure, culture and community activities. As part of these exciting plans, funding has been secured to encourage more people to walk and travel actively into the town centre.

The Active Travel Project is all about making it easier, safer and more enjoyable for people to walk into town. This includes understanding what currently puts people off walking, identifying areas for improvement, and encouraging positive changes in everyday travel habits. By doing this, the project also aims to improve health and wellbeing across the community and help reduce health inequalities.

Ethos Consultants have been appointed to deliver the first stages of the Active Travel Project, beginning in June 2025. Their work will focus on understanding how people currently travel into Fareham Town Centre and what changes could make walking a more attractive option.
