The Queen's Copse and Platinum Copse
In 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, having acceded to the throne on 6 February 1952, at the age of 25.
Fareham has a proud tradition of marking significant Royal milestones, and to commemorate Her Majesty's 70 years of service, the Council launched a sponsored tree planting scheme to create 'The Queen's Copse' within Abbey Meadows, Titchfield.
This specially designated copse offered a secluded and protected wildlife habitat to help encourage biodiversity in the area. Fareham residents, community groups, organisations, clubs, and businesses were invited to sponsor trees either for themselves, in memory of a loved one, or on behalf of someone special.
Due to the popularity and high demand for the scheme, a second area, the Platinum Copse, was identified to allow even more people to take part. A total of 155 trees were planted across both copses, located in Abbey Meadows. Like The Queen's Copse, the Platinum Copse also provided a protected habitat to further support local biodiversity.

What happens next if I have sponsored a tree?
Thank you to those that have sponsored a tree. You should have now received your certificate in the post. A list of names, your tree number and a map can also be found on the Roll of Honour.
Open Day
An annual open day will take place each year where the gates will be unlocked for the day to give you an opportunity to vist your tree up close.
The next open day will take place on Saturday 14 June 2025.
We kindly ask that flowers, photos/images and other items are not left by the tree.
