Fareham Borough Council will be introducing 'Simpler Recycling' for business waste customers from 31 March 2025 to comply with the introduction of national legislation which aims to simplify refuse and recycling disposal, so that more items can be recycled across England.
The introduction of Simpler Recycling means that there will be some changes to how waste is collected from businesses in Fareham. Now, for the first time, businesses with more than 10 employees will be required by law to separate food waste from the rest of its residual waste and a wider range of recycling will also be collected, including glass, plastic, metal, paper and cardboard.
Until 31 March 2025, services will continue unaffected, and the Council will be in contact with its business customers to ensure that the changes are implemented as simply and seamlessly as possible.
Fareham Borough Council has been removing businesses' waste for over 40 years, have over 950 business customers across the Borough and upwards of 85% satisfaction rate for this service.
