If your bin was not emptied
We always prefer to empty your bins as planned, so if you find that we have missed your bin, there could have been a problem:
- The bin was not put out on the kerbside by 6am, so the crew could not empty it. We will not return to collect it.
- The wrong items were in the bin, so it could not be emptied (we usually leave a hanger or tag on your bin with details of the problem). We will not return to collect it. You can find further information of what you can, and can't put in your bins here: What you can and can't put in your bins
- The crew were unable to access your road to collect your bin. You can check if there were any problems in your road, such as roadworks or vehicles blocking our access, and find details about when we will return to collect your bin here: Updates to our Waste Service.
- If there is no hanger on your bin or road access issues reported on our webpage, our crews may have missed your bin by mistake. We will come back and collect it. Fill in our online report a problem form or phone 01329 236100.
Please let us know within 3 working days of your missed collection date that your bin has not been emptied. For example: if your bin was missed on Monday morning, you'll need to let us know by 4pm on Wednesday. We'll try to return within 2 working days of you reporting your missed bin.
If you tell us after 3 days, we won't be able to return, as our crews will have moved on to other areas and it is not practical to send a vehicle back for one bin.
