Flight equipment company flies into Solent Airport

International flight equipment company, Transair, is the latest business to take up residence in purpose-built hangars at Solent Airport.

The company, which distributes flight equipment and pilot supplies to the UK, Europe and globally, says Solent Airport is perfect place for business as it is in a prime location, has first class facilities and customers can land aircraft right outside the premises.

The move is an extension for the company from their current base at Brighton City Airport. Currently 12 members of staff will be based at the award-winning Faraday Business Park location.

Fareham Borough Council has invested over £30m in Solent Airport and its business parks, since it took ownership of the airport in 2015. The airport has industry-leading office and workshop space within the newly extended Fareham Innovation Centre.

The Council has also invested in new roads, bespoke industrial units and new hangars for business and general aviation use.

Tom Moloney, Managing Director of Transair, said: “Solent is an up and coming airport in a premier location with great transport links. It’s the perfect place for our business.

“It’s a great airport with a good runway which has been maintained properly and the facilities and buildings are perfect for our business. We believe Solent Airport has a great future and we want to be part of that. We are excited to see what the future brings.”

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said: "We are delighted to have Transair at Solent Airport and believe others will follow their lead. Solent Airport is a success story which will continue to grow.”

Space is still available at the Solent Airport hangars and is managed by commercial property agents Lambert Smith Hampton. Details can be found at http://www.fareham.gov.uk/planning/regeneration/daedalusregen.aspx
