Press Release

5 January 2023

Nominations for Citizen of Honour close soon

There is still time for Fareham residents to nominate inspirational individuals for Fareham Borough Council’s Citizen of Honour 2023 awards.

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, 31 January 2023, and there are two categories in which people can be nominated: Young Citizen of Honour Award for residents 17 years or under, and the Citizen of Honour Award for those aged 18 or over.

There will be two winners, one in each category. Previous winners have been nominated for coping with something life-changing, caring for an individual, charity fundraising and supporting children at school.
Nominees must live in Fareham Borough, and they cannot be nominated by a family member. We cannot accept nominations for previous winners, unless this year’s nomination is for something unrelated to their previous award.

Each of the two winners will receive a £100 One4all gift card, plus they will be invited to a reception with the Mayor to sign the Roll of Honour and receive Citizen of Honour certificates.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said:

"We have some exceptional members of the community in Fareham who deserve recognition for the positive difference they make to other people’s lives. I therefore urge Fareham residents to show their appreciation for local heroes by nominating them for a Citizen of Honour Award."

Details of prizes and how to nominate your hero can be found on the Council’s website: www.fareham.gov.uk/COH.
