Nominations open for Fareham’s Citizen of Honour

Fareham Borough Council is looking for inspirational members of the local community who deserve recognition in its 2024 Citizen of Honour awards.

The Council runs the awards every year to celebrate and honour those residents who have made a difference to the lives of local people, or who have shown resilience and determination when facing something challenging.

There are two categories in which people may be nominated: The Young Citizen of Honour Award for residents up to and including 17 years of age, and the Citizen of Honour Award for those aged 18 and over. Previous winners have been nominated for raising money for good causes, volunteering and coping with life-changing illness.

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday 31 January 2024. Nominees must be resident in the Borough of Fareham and must not have received an award previously. The exception to this is if the nomination is for something unrelated to the previous award.

There will be one winner in each category, who will receive:

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said:

“We know that there are many members of our community who give up their time to help others, or who face particularly challenging personal circumstances. I would encourage residents to nominate these exceptional individuals so that they can receive the recognition they deserve in the Citizen of Honour Awards."
