Press Release

23 July 2024

Return to a bygone era in Fareham this September

Fareham Borough Council has announced that its popular Bygone Fareham event will be returning this year on Saturday 14 September 2024.

Taking place between 10am and 4pm, in the pedestrianised area of West Street in Fareham town centre, this free event will be host to singing and dancing from the 1970's, in recognition of Fareham’s 50th Anniversary of having Borough status. There will also be activities for children, a pop-up vintage artisan market and an array of classic cars for visitors to admire, provided by local motoring groups and proud private owners.

If you are interested in displaying your classic vehicle at this year’s event, please contact the Leisure and Community Team at leisure@fareham.gov.uk before 30 August.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Connie Hockley, said: “Bygone Fareham is always a firm favourite on the Council’s event calendar. I am delighted that it is returning to the town centre once again with something for the whole family to enjoy. I encourage residents to come along and step back into a bygone era on the Borough’s 50th year.”
