Council celebrates completion of latest Shared Ownership Scheme

Fareham Housing is delighted to announce that construction of its new shared ownership scheme at Ophelia Court in the Park Gate ward is now complete.

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Pal Hayre, was joined by Executive Member for Housing, Councillor Fred Birkett, and members of the construction team, FE Chase today to officially open the development.

Ophelia Court includes five one-bedroom flats and four two-bedroom flats. The Council secured £447,000 of funding towards its delivery from Homes England through the Wayfarer Partnership, 

Interest in the new homes has been high and currently only two remain unreserved. Anyone wishing to register an interest in one of the properties should join Fareham Borough Council’s ‘Affordable Home Ownership Register’. Details can be found on the webpage below.

Executive Member for Housing at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Fred Birkett said: “I am delighted to see these fabulous new shared ownership flats at Ophelia Court. This development provides much-needed affordable homes in the Borough and the opportunity for more people to step onto the housing ladder. Most of the flats have now been reserved which just shows the quality of what we have provided. I wish the new residents every happiness in their new homes.”

Shahi Islam, Director of Affordable Housing at Homes England, added: “As the Government’s housing and regeneration agency, increasing the supply of quality affordable homes remains one of our key objectives and we are committed to supporting stakeholders of all sizes to achieve their ambitions. Ophelia Court is a prime example of how we work collaboratively with partners through the Affordable Homes Programme to achieve our mission to build much needed new communities that people can be proud to call home.”
