Press Release

More time to have your say on Fareham’s new Local Plan

Fareham Borough Council has extended the deadline for residents and businesses to have their say on the early stages of the new Fareham Local Plan.

The Scoping Consultation and consultation on the draft Engagement Strategy will now remain open until Friday 23 October, giving people more time to find out about the plans and share their views.

The Council wants to hear from residents, businesses, organisations and community groups about what matters most to them as the new Local Plan is developed. People can also comment on how they would like to be kept informed and involved as the Local Plan progresses.

Feedback received at this early stage will help inform the future direction of the Local Plan and how the Council engages with communities during its development.

Cllr Malcolm Daniels, Executive Member for Planning and Development, said: “The new Local Plan will help shape the future of Fareham, so it is important that people have the opportunity to get involved from the very beginning. We have extended the consultation to 23 October to give everyone a little more time to look at the information and tell us what matters to them. If you haven’t responded yet, I would encourage you to take a look and have your say.”

The consultation is now open until Friday 23 October.

Further information and details of how to respond are available on the Council’s website. Consultation information is also available at libraries across the borough and at the Civic Offices in Fareham Town Centre.
