Fareham Local Plan 2044 Notice to Commence

Under the new plan-making system (The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026, Part 4, Regulation 19), the Council is required to publish a notice of intention to commence Local Plan preparation.

This notice provides advance notification to communities and stakeholders of the commencement of plan-making for Fareham's new Local Plan which will cover the administrative area of Fareham. The Plan will set out the spatial planning and policy framework for the borough up to 2044.

Notice of intention to commence local plan preparation

In accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026, Part 4, Regulation 19 Fareham Borough Council gives notice that it is preparing a new Local Plan.

The Council intend to start the 30-month plan preparation process by 31st October 2026.
