Food waste collections in Fareham
Weekly food waste collections started in Fareham on 30 March 2026, to help residents boost the amount they can recycle and help to provide power for our Borough.
Your food waste is now collected weekly, on the same day as your residual waste or recycling bins, unless we tell you otherwise. So remember – if you're putting a big bin out, put your outdoor food waste bin out too!
You should have:
For inside your home:
- An indoor kitchen caddy so you can collect your food waste each day
For outside your home:
- If you have wheeled bins collected at the kerbside, we've also provided you with an outdoor food waste bin. Simply write your house name or number on this bin using permanent marker or paint, so we know which one is yours.
- If you use communal waste bins, a separate leaflet
(2 MB) a communal bin has been delivered, specifically for food waste.
