Bank Holiday collections

Bins are emptied on the usual day. There is no change over Bank Holiday weeks. Over Easter and the early May Bank Holiday and the Platinum Jubilee weekend, bins will be emptied on the due day.

Please put your bin out on the edge of the public highway by 6am on the morning of your collection, or the evening before.

Details of changes to collections over Christmas 2022 will be posted here nearer the time.

Food waste

Find ways to store food External Hyperlink, and use up left-overs External Hyperlink, to reduce the amount of food in your bin, and save you money.

Recycling

Please put paper, card, tins, cans, aerosols and plastic bottles in the blue lid recycling bin. Unfortunately no plastic other than bottles are accepted (no plastic pots, tubs, trays or packaging). Please put everything loose in the blue lid bin, not in bags.

Empty jars and bottles can go in the glass recycling banks around the Borough.

Clothes and textiles can be taken to the textile banks.

Household waste recycling centres (HWRC)

You can take excess refuse or other household items to a household waste recycling centre (HWRC). They are open every day except 25 and 26 December and 1 January, but you will need to book a slot to visit.
