The Mayor of Fareham's Charities 2026/2027
The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Mrs Tina Ellis, will be holding a variety of fundraising events in support of her chosen charities and would be delighted if you were able to support these.
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC)
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity
is the principal charity of the Royal Navy. They are committed, ready and by the side of Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary personnel and their families, past, present and future.
Since 2007, they have funded projects that boost morale for those serving today while backing the organisations that care for veterans and families. Last year alone, they awarded over 1,000 grants worth £5.72 million, reaching nearly 100,000 beneficiaries with pace, rigour and purpose.
Everything they do is to ensure that those who serve our nation, and the families who stand beside them, are never forgotten.
The Rainbow Centre
Founded by a small group of parents determined to secure the best possible support for their children with Cerebral Palsy, the Rainbow Centre
has been transforming lives since 1990. Today, it supports both children and adults with a range of neurological conditions, including acquired brain injuries.
Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS)
GAFIRS
is an independent lifeboat and inshore rescue service, established in 1969. As a declared facility to the UK Coastguard, it provides vital emergency lifeboat cover for the Eastern Solent and Portsmouth Harbour.
Vetlife
Vetlife is a charity dedicated to supporting the veterinary profession.
Everyone in the veterinary community is welcome to contact the Vetlife Helpline
for free, independent and confidential support – including veterinary nurses, veterinary students, and non-clinical staff. The Vetlife Helpline volunteers are all from a veterinary background, so have a first-hand understanding of the type of issues affecting the profession, although concerns do not need to be work related.
Following contact with the Vetlife Helpline, volunteers can refer those needing further care to our award-winning Vetlife Health Support
service. Vetlife Health Support can help with a range of mental health difficulties, including stress, anxiety, depression, alcohol, and drug misuse, and eating disorders.
Vetlife Financial Support
is available for eligible veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, and their dependants in the UK.
Over the past few years, the demand for these services has seen a remarkable increase, and the charity relies heavily on the generosity of donors and fundraisers to meet this growing demand and sustain its essential work.
