Fareham Town Centre Regeneration
Background
In February 2025, Fareham Borough Council published its Fareham Town Centre Regeneration Strategy
(7 MB) - a bold 10-year plan that sets out a clear and ambitious vision for the future of our town.
The strategy has been shaped by the voices of our community. We've listened to residents, businesses, workers and visitors and considered the changing ways people shop and use town centres today.
Our Vision
Fareham town centre will be a destination of choice with a diverse retail offer, public services and an array of leisure, entertainment, and events for everyone.
Our aspirations for the town
We would like to have more homes in the town centre as well as ensuring any changes in the town centre offering of shops, services and entertainment will better serve our community's changing needs. We also want to create more interesting and high-quality outdoor public spaces and vibrant uses during the day and evening.
Our approach to regeneration
The Council is committed to delivering transformational change in the town by using its own assets, attracting significant inward investment, and partnering with businesses, public sector partners and residents to create a vibrant place for people to visit, live, work and play.
Listening to you
Throughout much of 2025, we were developing an outline masterplan for the shopping centre and surrounding area to create a more dynamic and attractive environment that draws more people into the town centre.
From mid-November to mid-December we shared and asked for feedback on our emerging plans. We spoke to around 600 people in the Shopping Centre on Saturday 15 and Thursday 20 November, and hosted an online consultation throughout most of December.
There will be further opportunities to share your views as our plans progress. In the meantime, please click on the buttons below to find out more about our approach and how you can get involved.
