- Extra space from Newgate Lane towards Rowner Road, and on the Rowner Road approach to the roundabout, to increase capacity for peak hour traffic
- A new footpath/cycleway on the south side of Rowner Road and the south-west side of the roundabout
- Revised toucan (pedestrian and cycle) crossing facilities across Newgate Lane near the junction and new toucan crossings on the Broom Way and Rowner Road exit arms of the roundabout. The existing crossing on Gosport Road will be retained.
