The Constitution

Our written Constitution sets out how decisions will be made and the rules and procedures under which we will operate. We have used extracts from it on this website to explain our decision-making system and the powers of councillors involved. We have also used it to let you know who your councillors are, who holds a particular office and your rights to attend and speak at meetings of the Council. It has eight sections:
